
Sticky rice (ข้าวเหนียว Kao neaw in Thai)
Sticky rice is a rice dish from North East Thailand (Isaan area), the North Chiang Mai area and Laos. Sticky rice is traditionally served in a beautiful Bamboo Sticky Rice Basket (กระติบ grateep in Thai).

Sticky rice is not only meant to be eaten with your hands , but it is also meant to serve as a utensil. The basic method is to scoop up a mound of rice, rolling it into a little ball, and using it to scoop up your food. It’s really fun to eat.
